Hairspray Queen sound like The 1990s never
happened. They also sound like The 1970s and
1960s never happened, either. In short, they
sound like if a 1980s SST/Homestead band
recorded with Sam Phillips in 1954. Passionate,
reverberating vocals over neurotic, trebly guitars
at a rapid tempo. Listen to Hairspray Queen and
quit your griping. They’re better than your band.
